How to verify and claim Yahoo Store URL in Google Merchant Center
Starting from May 18, 2010 Google Merchant Center will require your Yahoo Store’s (or any other store’s) URL to be claimed and verified. We created a 4-step tutorial on how to verify and claim Yahoo Store URL in Google Merchant Center. The whole procedure will take you about 10 minutes. It needs to be done! If you Yahoo store URL is not claimed and verified before. 5/18/2010, your items will no longer be listed in Google Product Search. So let us get right down to business:
Step 1. Determine if You Need to Do Anything.
Login to Google Merchant center (previously known as Google Base) at this URL: http://www.google.com/base . Click on Settings then click on General. If under your website URL you see a message similar to the one on the screenshot below – you need to read and follow this tutorial.

Step 2. Choose Verification Method and Copy Verification File Name
Now that we know that we do need to verify our URL, let us click on “Verify this URL” link on your Google Merchant General settings screen. This will take you to Verify Ownership screen in Google Webmaster Central. You will need to do three things there: – If your website is not already showing up under Sites, click on Add a Site, then add http://yourwebsite.com - Change verification method to “Upload an HTML file” – On the line where it says download this verification file, copy the the file name (including .html) Check out the screenshot below. Verification method is changed and the file name is highlighted and copied. The file name looks like googlexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.html – but it will be different for your website. 
Step 3. Create verification file in Yahoo Store Manager
Now that we have the verification file name copied, we need to go to Yahoo Store Editor and create a new file named as value you copied in Step 2. – Open a new browser screen – Visit http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com - Click on Small Business – Login with your Yahoo Store user name and password – Click on Store Control Panel – Under Promote section, click on Search Engines – Find a section which says Google Sitemap Verification File – Paste your previously copied verification file name into the field next to it
– Scroll all the way down and click Done on the right – This will take you back to Store Control Panel – Under Order Settings click on Publish Order Settings – At the new screen click Publish again – When done publishing click Close
Step 4. Verify your Yahoo Store URL
After you published the Order Settings, go back to Verify Ownership Screen iin Google Webmaster Central. (end of Step 2) Click Verify button. This will take you back to General Settings. Note that now your URL status changed to Verified – Claim this URL. Click on Claim This URL and VIOLA! Your website is verified and claimed!
